Donegal Town (Dún na nGall), the vibrant county town of County Donegal, offers a rich blend of history and charm. Its Irish name, meaning "Fort of the Strangers," reflects its strategic past, and the lively Diamond area at the town’s heart is where locals and visitors come together.

Once the seat of the O'Donnell clan, the town’s history is showcased at Donegal Castle, a 15th-century stronghold that has been beautifully restored. Donegal Town is also the birthplace of Donegal Tweed, with the Magee family’s internationally renowned brand, established in 1866. The Magee Department Store in the Diamond offers exquisite tailoring and locally crafted clothing.

In the center of the Diamond stands an obelisk commemorating the Four Masters, who compiled the Annals of the Four Masters in the 17th century. A short walk away, the old harbour area offers stunning views of Donegal Bay, and the Donegal Bay Waterbus provides a scenic tour of the bay, enriched with local history.

To reach the Mill Park Hotel, follow the Donegal Town ring-road towards the Killybegs roundabout (N56), where the hotel is clearly visible. Set in its own beautiful grounds with ample free parking, the hotel offers a perfect base for exploring the area.
